Bean Patties

I am not the biggest fan of imitation meat because it reminds me too much of the real thing. However, I am not against making my own versions at home when I can know what is in it. Black beans are probably my favorite bean so I paired those with pinto beans to make these Bean Patties.

I'm planning to have more patty variations over so be on the lookout for more!

Bean Patties

Yield: 5 servings
Prep time: 60 minites
Total time: 80 minutes

Ingredients

Black Beans | 1 can

Pinto Beans | 1 can

Olive Oil | 2 tbsp

Ground Chia Seeds | 1 tbsp

Bread Brumbs | 1 tbsp

Paprika | 1 tsp

Garlic Powder | 1 tsp

Nutritional Yeast | 1 tsp

Directions

1. Add black beans, pinto beans, and chia seeds to a bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher until a majority have been mashed leaving a few solid beans.

2. Add oil and spices and combine.

3. Use your hands to create patties with the ingredients. If they are having a hard time sticking together, add more oil. I make about 10 small patties but if you make them larger it may only make around 5.

4. Heat extra olive oil over medium heat and add a patty and flip until browning on both sides.

5. Serve with your favorite toppings and bread choice.

6. Enjoy!
